Blepharoplasty
Cosmetic eyelid surgery also called Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure designed to improve the appearance of the eyelids. It addresses: . Loose or excess skin of the upper eyelids . Fatty deposits in the upper and lower lids causing bags and puffiness . Droopy lower eyelids . Wrinkling of the lower eyelids These eyelids conditions can be improved dramatically by surgery, removing excess skin and repositioning muscle and fat deposits. For the upper eyelids the procedure involves an incision in the natural crease of the lids with removal of excess skin, repositioning of the fatty deposits in order to tighten and firm up the eyelid. The lower eyelids can be approached through an incision below the lash line to remove the excess skin and reposition the fat deposits. Under certain circumstances a transconjunctival incision inside the lower lid can also redistribute or remove the fat and tighten the sagging muscles. Results are gradual as swelling and bruising resolve, controlled with cold compresses and medications post operatively. Healing is usually achieved within 5 to 7 days and normal activity and work can be resumed at that time. This Outpatient procedure is performed in our Office Accredited Operating Suite under IV sedation and monitored anesthesia.
