Thermage®

Thermage® is a revolutionary non-surgical treatment for lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin. Harnessing the power of capacitive radiofrequency (CRF) energy, Thermage® tightens existing collagen and stimulates the growth of new collagen. The procedure is effective for various skin types and colors; however, people who are between the ages of 35 and 60 typically experience the most dramatic results. Those who have significant skin laxity may find that a facelift, brow suspension, or other plastic surgery procedure may be more suited to their needs.

IPL

Intense Pulse Light (IPL) treatments deliver light energy to the deeper layers of the skin to alleviate pigment irregularities, rosacea, acne, and other skin problems. By stimulating the production of new collagen, IPL treatments may also improve the overall texture of the skin and promote facial rejuvenation.  Because it uses light rather than abrasive particles or chemicals, IPL leaves the protective top layer of skin untouched and therefore involves very little downtime.

Before performing the IPL facial rejuvenation procedure at our practice near Clarksville, we apply a cooling gel to the treatment area. This ensures that the patient remains comfortable during treatment. The doctor then uses a special hand piece to apply controlled pulses of light to problem areas. The sensation felt during IPL treatment differs from patient to patient; however, many have compared it to the snap from a rubber band or a warm tingling.

After treatment, patients should take good care of their skin, protecting it from the sun and using quality skin care products. If a patient takes good care of his or her skin, the rejuvenating results experienced after an IPL treatment can last a year or more.

The characteristic blue tint turns darker as the solution penetrates deep into the skin and allows the doctor to gauge the progress of the peel. During the next several days following an Obagi Blue Peel® application, the skin will shed the outer layer of dead cells. This process reveals new skin cells and a brighter, fresher complexion.
